Situated in the heart of of Manhattan in the NoMad district, the five star Gansevoort Park Avenue is hip and stylish without being over the top trendy. The hotel is approximately a ten minute walk from the Empire State Building and iconic Flatiron building, but there’s also plenty to do on-site. Share small plates with a few friends while chatting on the cafe’s distinctive blue leather sofas, visit Cutler Salon for a fresh new look, or unwind with a Flow Yoga class at Exhale Spa and fitness center. Visiting the hotel’s heated rooftop pool is a must-do, if only for the incredible views of the city (including an unobstructed view of the Empire State Building) visible from its 20th floor vantage point.
Hidden costs, look out! Watch out!
The 2nd time in Royalton Park Ave (formerly Gansevoort Park Avenue) — a huge disappointment. Hotel was booked by voucher at the travel agency for a special room category. At check-in it was a completely different category, for the desired room an upgrade would have been due and it was pushed on the travel agency. I have been working with the travel agency for 20 years and the «mistake» can be excluded. Because of a loudly audible building site in the hotel, we had kept the «wrong» room. The shock came, however, at the check-out, over 40 dollars per night plus tax were charged (facility fee) and with one week in the hotel a proud sum. This despite vouchers. On the question where the reference for these costs would have been, a mini list was taken from the envelope behind the hotel key card, which contains e.g. costs for pool use and WIFI. The pool area could have been cleaned several times, the cushions of the deckchairs were mouldy because they were always damp and WIFI? Seriously. Absolute impudence and not transparent. The hotel is getting on in years and it could urgently need some beauty corrections, for that you should use this facilty fee. Although the location is very good, New York has too many other hotels to choose from. And please don’t let the hotel management make any sorry statements. There won’t be another one.
